This section provides an overview of past Local Ministry work in the Seattle area and nation-wide as well. Some of these events have also impacted our other ministry areas. Prayer & Spiritual Warfare:


The GoodWill Games were an international sports competition, similar to the Olympics, which were held between 1986 - 2001. In 1990, Seattle was host to the second of these games and participants and fans from many different nations were present. Bev served as Washington State’s GO ‘90 Director of Prayer & Spiritual Warfare in preparation for the outreach during this time.

The Native Americans have always been close to Bev's heart. Many years ago, her mother and grandparents served the Native Peoples of America at the Cataldo Mission in Idaho, the oldest Mission in the region. In the early 90's, GMI called for a fast for the Native Americans living in Washington State to cover the Native Peoples and reservations. Our focus was on restoration, reconciliation and healing. Thanks to the overwhelming response of individuals and intercessory teams state-wide, we were able to cover a full year (365 days) of prayer and fasting. In 2008, we once again focused on the Native Peoples of America, with our 2008 Esther Prayer Fast and are also covering them in current Esther Vigil Prayer Focus.

GMI also organized and led a 72-hour prayer and fasting vigil in order to pray for government and spiritual leaders. This vigil was held on the Capitol grounds in Olympia, WA, and began with Washington’s Supreme Court Justice, James Dolliver, reading Genesis 1 on the Captiol steps. Intercessory teams then took over the reading until the entire Bible was read. This served as a prophetic proclamation that the Word of God would be established and would not return void in the State of Washington and the USA.

In 1993, the Billy Graham Crusade came to Seattle. Bev headed a 96-hour on-site prayer team to cover the crusade and everyone involved.

Spiritual Mapping:
Bev has also spiritually mapped Seattle and several other key cities. She then led intercessory teams throughout Seattle, and on to several major international cities, including St. Petersburg, Bejing, Vladivostok, the DMZ, Jerusalem, and more.

Nation-Wide Events:
Since 1980, GMI has called for an annual Esther Prayer Fast designed to cover a specific country and/or people group, but always including prayer for Israel, the Jewish people, and the Middle East.

During several of these years, the Lord directed Bev to include different nations in the fast such as Kenya (1988), Russia (1992), North and South Korea (1993), China (1994), USA (1995), India (1996). For more information, see our current Esther Vigil.
